Pick up from your hotel/Riad in Ouarzazate at 09:00 am, then drive west to the dramatic Ait Benhaddou Village, which is located around 30 kms from the city of Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa). Upon arrival, you will be amazed by the stunning view this masterpiece of architecture offers attracting every visitor to take countless pictures from afar.

After crossing the Ounila River that flows from the High-Atlas Mountains with its white water as it passes by the famous salt mine near the Telouet Village. The Ksar (Village) of Ait Benhaddou was selected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 because of its unique architecture and history.

Ait Benhaddou played a major role being an important commercial center for the caravan route that used to traverse Marrakech to the Sahara. This dramatic village consists of many Kasbahs (fortresses), which are a striking example of southern architecture.

It was used as a backdrop for shooting many Hollywood Movies including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia, Sahara, Kingdom of Heaven, and many others.

You will spend the time meandering around its buildings while learning about the local lifestyle and your private guide will bring its history alive to you.

Later, if you want to have a drink or a meal while overlooking the Kasbah before returning back to Ouarzazate in the afternoon.
