3-Days Desert Tour From Marrakech to Merzouga On The Map
Itinerary
Day1: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Ait Benhaddou - Dades Valley
Early pick up from your hotel/Riad at 07:30 am by your private driver/guide with whom you will have an interesting 3-days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour. You will cross the high-Atlas Mountains driving over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260) offering panoramic views. You will, then, have a guided walking tour of the dramatic Ait Benhaddou village, which is shrouded in mystery being an important commercial center in the former caravan route that used to link Marrakech with the Sahara desert and the Atlas Mountains.
After lunch, we will resume our journey by driving through the palm oasis of Skoura with its old Kasbahs (fortresses), then we will stop by the lush valley of Roses before getting to the Dades Valley where we will spend our first night in a calm, authentic and comfortable hotel/Riad.

Day2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in the Dades Valley, we will head further south to the Sahara desert of Merzouga stopping by the impressive Todra Gorges (Canyons). You will have free time to stretch your legs while enjoying the majestic views that this attraction is offering to guest-visitors.
After lunch, which will take place near Tinejdad, we will include a visit (if you wish) to a local factory of fossils in the city of Erfoud where you can learn about how the process of excavating fossils in the region and turning them into different shapes.
Upon arrival in the desert of Merzouga, the highlight of our 3-days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour will be the camel ride experience in the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. The view of the sunset is magical and once you get to the top of the dunes, you will be taken to another world.
Enjoy a nice meal for dinner, then you may want to spend sometime gazing at the stars that illuminate the horizons before spend your second night in our en-suite luxury desert camp.

Day3: Merzouga Desert - Alnif - Nkob - Ouarzazate - Marrakech
Today, you will wake up in the early morning as the activity consist of climbing up the sand dune and attending the majestic view of the sunrise. After having breakfast, which will be served under the sunlight or inside our tented restaurant before preparing ourselves for a long drive of around 10 hours back to Marrakech.
We will take a different route back to Marrakech through the barren desert by the ancient Anti-Atlas Mountains crossing numerous Berber palm villages like Alnif, Nkob before getting to Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa). The city is known for the Atlas Film Studios that has turned the region into a backdrop for shooting many Hollywood Films like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of Heaven and many others.
We will then drive through the spectacular high-Atlas Mountains before reaching Marrakech in the evening marking the end of our 3-days Sahara desert tour from Marrakech.
